Welcome to the Matthews Amp Website. I have been playing music most of my life and ever since I was a kid, I loved tinkering with electronics. So what better way to combine both of these passions into a Guitar Amp Repair Business. Dissatisfied with the mass produced guitar amps, I embarked on a quest several years ago to build the best sounding guitar amplifier. Thus began my career in building and repairing guitar tube amplifiers.
The first tube amp I built was a Fender Tweed Deluxe Clone. This is a very straight forward, great sounding amp. Go to the Custom Build page to see the various types of amps I have constructed over the years.
I can also do restorations and modifications on vintage tube amplifiers. I you have any old tube guitar amps lying around, let me restore it to its original condition or perform any number of modifications to the circuit. Go to my Repair and Restoration page for more information.
I can also service and repair your tube amp. Some of the services offered are re-tubing, biasing, capacitor change (especially critical if your amp is over 10 years old), and general troubleshooting and repair. See my Repair and Restoration page for services and charges.
As a professional musician, I want my guitars sounding the best they can be. I also offer guitar repair services such as set-ups, pickup changes, and switch wiring modifications. Go to my Guitar Repair and Mods page for list of services.
MatthewsAmps is now building custom guitar effect pedals. I can construct a variety of effect pedal clones at a reasonable cost. I have just added a compressor pedal to my lineup. Check these out on the Effects Pedals page
